Strathclyde Country Park News

Events

Taking place on Tuesday, November 5 for Guy Fawkes night, the event will offer lots of family fun - and no doubt be popular with Glaswegians missing the old Glasgow Green display.

For those looking for a public fireworks display to enjoy on Guy Fawkes night will find what they are looking for at Strathclyde Country Park as their celebrations return.

It may be welcome news to Glaswegians willing to travel. As reported on Glasgow Live earlier this year, there are no plans for a public fireworks display in the city, with the £350,000 estimated cost deemed too high. Organised by North and South Lanarkshire councils, there will be parking will be available at Hamilton Palace Sports Grounds, Low Parks Museum, South Lanarkshire Council’s overflow car park at the rear of Aldi, and on Keith Street and High Patrick Street.

Depute chief executive, Andrew McPherson, said vehicles parking in Strathclyde Country Park will be held for some time after the display ends to allow people on foot to exit safely, so drivers are asked to be patient.
