Family, friends and music industry colleagues are expected to assemble in Akasia Hall, near the Wonderpark Shopping Centre in northern Pretoria today, for theMoholo died on Wednesday last week at the age of 65 after suffering a stroke.
He had been admitted to hospital in Botswana in August after falling ill in while on tour to promote his latest album. Gauteng Arts and Culture Spokesperson, Nomazwe Ntlokwane says Moholo’s untimely death has shocked the whole country. She says, “It is a great loss for the legacy of gospel music. Solly Moholo was a popular force in the gospel music landscape, with a unique sound, look and vibrancy he brought to the beloved genre. A true icon, his influence will continue to be felt and inspire gospel music for years to come.
