Low-cost gold-copper miner already has plenty on its plate

Evolution Mining boss Lawrie Conway has again poured cold water on whispers that the low-cost, cashed-up gold-copper miner is casting its net for new assets, saying the company already has plenty of options within a portfolio that includes some of Australia's largest gold mines. The ASX200 miner faced similar questions after it purchased 80% of Northparkes in New South Wales almost a year ago, and its answer has not changed.

In Western Australia, the Mungari mill expansion project was reported to be slightly ahead of schedule and within budget. While processing will continue until the end of the year, mining concluded at Mt Rawdon in Queensland, with the last gasp delivering an above-budget $21 million net cash flow for the quarter. Notably, the 2024 Melbourne Cup has been made from gold produced by Mt Rawdon.
