ANC leaders have called for the speedy renewal of the party in memory of Tambo.

Gauteng African National Congress chairperson Panyaza Lesufi says that the party will not betray Oliver Tambo’s legacy, despite the electoral setback encountered at the 29 May polls.

Lesufi was speaking at the commemoration ceremony held for the late anti-apartheid stalwart in Wattville, Ekurhuleni today. Meanwhile, ANC national chairperson Gwede Mantashe has called for the speedy renewal of the party to boost its support in memory ofMantashe was speaking in Boksburg in eastern Johannesburg where the ANC is also holding a National Executive Committee meeting.
