Some residents say service delivery is selectively rendered in Mogale City.

Mogale City residents have pleaded with the newly appointed African National Congress mayor, Lucky Sele, to urgently address the service delivery issues in the area.

Sele was elected on Friday with 43 votes. This comes after Danny Thupane resigned before a no-confidence motion was tabled against him. Residents’ complaints in Kagiso, on Gauteng’s West Rand, include youth unemployment and service delivery.“We have a water problem, especially in our area, Ward 8. We can spend three days without water. What’s worse is that in some areas water tankers.”

“The water quality is not up to standard, which results in people falling sick. Our kids have completed their studies, yet can’t find jobs.” Mogale City’s newly appointed mayor says he will try to look into the water provision situation and other issues.
