McDonald’s announced on Sunday that its beef patties are not responsible for the E. Coli outbreak linked to the company’s quarter pounders. It comes after the outbreak made at least 75 people sick, including at least 22 who were hospitalized and one person who died. NBC News’ Maura Barrett has the details.

No E. coli was detected in samples of beef patties used in McDonald's Quarter Pounders that have been linked to a deadly outbreak, a company spokesperson said Sunday, citing tests done by the Colorado Department of Agriculture. At this time, the department has no further plans to test the beef patties, the company spokesperson said, and the patties have been ruled out as the source of the outbreak.
