San Antonio PAC News

The Renew San Antonio PAC brought in more than $419,000 over the last month compared to the $177,215 the firefighters’ union raised.

Business leaders have outraised the firefighters’ union in their push to get voters to strike restrictions on the city manager’s pay and tenure. The Renew San Antonio PAC raised nearly $419,300 in the last month, according to campaign finance reports filed Monday. That brings their total amount of cash raised to date to just over $544,000.

That cap puts his base salary at $374,400. The council can also only keep him on the job for up to eight years, which means he must step down by the end of February 2027 — unless the city charter is amended to remove these caps. Joe Jones, president of the San Antonio Professional Firefighters Association, said he doesn’t know how much the union will spend on its campaign to defeat Prop C.
