Texas House News

San Antonio nonprofit Guardian House wants a judge to appoint an auditor to examine the books and records of Cecilia Castellano's company.

A general contracting company headed by Texas House District 80 candidate Cecilia Castellano has been hit with fraud allegations by a San Antonio nonprofit that hired her firm to oversee construction work. Guardian House, which works with families going through divorce, took legal action against Castellano’s Azteca Designs Inc. last week after a subcontractor sued them both alleging it had not been paid for work done on the project at 1354 Basse Road.

8 million, which was covered by more than $1 million in donations and $500,000 allocated by Bexar County Commissioners from funds received through the American Rescue Plan Act, the COVID-19 stimulus package. Castellano’s daughter-in-law, Julia Castellano, prepared the bid and acted as “purported ‘Project Manager,’ ” Guardian House says. Azteca agreed to complete the project by May 24, but substantial delays occurred.
