from a Dauphin County fire company social club directly pocketed cash from the till, under-reported income during his shifts and stole winning tickets for small games of chance, police wrote in court documents filed Thursday against him.

In records provided to the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, Topos indicated the club earned $24k from 34 small games of chance during June and July, according to police documents.Reconstructed financial records, however, showed that 46 games were in circulation during the audited period, which should have earned the club around $34k, police said.

Under Topos’ stewardship, $32,224 worth of revenue was also unaccounted for, police said. There was no record of this money being deposited into the club’s accounts. Instead, cash payments for the skill machines was taken by Topos, leaving no documentation or evidence of the income. Magisterial District Judge Michael Smith arraigned Topos Thursday on a felony count of theft by unlawful taking and a misdemeanor of tampering with physical evidence.

Magisterial District Judge Kenneth A. Lenker's name appears alongside Tamas Topos on a list of names provided to Swatara Township by the Bressler Fire Company. Topos has been charged with theft and falsification of records in Lenker's court office, and is scheduled to appear before Lenker Nov. 26.
