CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Some West Side Market shoppers are upset about $30 parking tickets for skipping out on parking fees. It seems the new gateless process is confusing, and they didn’t know they were in violation. After examining the issue this week, the non-profit Cleveland Public Market Corporation, which operates the West Side Market, has a plan to simplify parking procedures and minimize parking tickets.
“We are grateful to our customers for the feedback they’ve shared over the last few months,” said CPMC executive director Rosemary Mudry in a press release. “We’re thankful to the customers who have adopted our new parking system, and we believe implementing several key updates will make the parking process smoother for all visitors to the Market.”Nuevo Modern Mexican hosts 6-course fall wine dinner on Nov.
Parking is always free for the first hour during market operations and $1.50 per additional hour, to a maximum of $12. Even when customers plan to shop for only 60 minutes, they should enter vehicle information by QR code or kiosk. Customers paying by QR code will receive a text message when more time is needed. Then, they can pay without receiving a fine.
