Local press reported that his lawyer, Gurdial Singh Nijar confirmed his death, saying that he was admitted to Assunta Hospital in October. During his first tenure, he played a critical role in restructuring Malaysia’s economy while the second appointment saw him focusing on handling the Asian financial crisis.
