PETALING JAYA: National men's singles shuttler Leong Jun Hao has produced a sensational comeback to book his place in his first-ever Super 500 final at the Japan Masters.

MUAR: A 50-year-old woman has fallen victim to a Telegram investment scam, losing RM124,400 over a series of transactions.

Muar OCPD Asst Comm Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz said that the woman joined a Telegram investment group on Nov 6, after being approached by a self-proclaimed manager offering a high-return investment in Bitcoin. “The scammer promised returns of up to 250% within a few hours. So, the victim followed instructions to register through a link provided and began investing.

“ From Nov 7 until Nov 13, the private sector clerk made 12 transactions into eight different bank accounts, using her savings,” he said in a statement on Saturday .“Suspecting fraud, she refused further payment requests and lodged a police report,” he added.“We would like to advise the public to exercise caution when engaging in financial transactions and to stay informed about common scam tactics.

“The Commercial Crime Investigation Department regularly shares updates and advice on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok to help the public identify and avoid scams,” he added.
