Southlake police are investigating a crash and shooting that happened in front of the Central Market shopping center.

Police are investigating a wrong-way crash and shooting that happened in front of the Southlake shopping center on Friday morning.Police said they initially got a call around 9 a.m. about a wrong-way driver that turned into an accident on Southlake Boulevard between Carroll and Central avenues. That's right in front of the shopping center that houses Central Market.The accident escalated into an altercation, and shots were fired, police said.

"He's got a gun! He's got a gun!" someone yells just before more than a dozen gunshots rang out.Charley Wilkison, the executive director of the Combined Law Enforcement Association of Texas, shared a post on social media that said an officer returned fire. However, Southlake police have not yet confirmed that.Police did confirm that no one was hit by the gunfire and no one was hurt.One person was taken into custody, they said.
