A costing assessment from ITK says it needs $160 million from the public and private sectors to open a main campus and develop initial degree programs. It aims to open the doors to students in 2030. He said Inuit Nunangat University will remove barriers that prevent many Inuit from accessing post-secondary education and equip them with degrees to support the needs of their communities.
"This is going to be a university where people who want to go to university in Inuit Nunangat will be grounded in Inuit society and also have a full spectrum of educational opportunities that include learning more about our society and our practices."
