SAMENTA,William Ng,Annual Leave Proposal

The Small and Medium Enterprises Association of Malaysia (Samenta) has criticized a proposal to standardize paid annual leave at 16 days for all workers, warning that such a move could hurt both employees and employers. Samenta president Datuk William Ng noted that many companies already offer between 18 and 21 days of leave to employees with over five years of service.

He added that a forced increase of annual leave would result in higher operational costs and slash profit margins.
