The two-day Ekurhuleni Investment Conference 2024 kicked off at Emperors Palace on November 26, with the theme 'Unlocking Opportunities, Building a Sustainable Future'. The annual event aims to attract new investors and boost economic growth and sustainable development in the region. It featured various speakers, including government officials and representatives from public/private entities, along with local businesses showcasing their offerings.

Ekurhuleni Mayor Doctor Xhakaza addressed the conference on day one, alongside several dignitaries, including Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition Parks Tau, Deputy Minister Mondli Gungubele, and Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi. City Manager Dr Imogen Mashazi highlighted the city's commitment to providing uninterrupted power supply through its independent power producers (IPPs) programme
