A devastating fire swept through the only market in Trademore Estate, Lugbe, Abuja, in the early hours of Monday, leaving traders and residents with significant losses. The fire, which reportedly started around 3:30 a.m. after power was restored by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, quickly spread and led to a tense and chaotic situation for those affected. Despite initial delays in contacting emergency services, firefighters from Dunamis Church responded at around 5:00 a.m.
, followed by teams from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Sauka Station. The fire was brought under control after two hours, preventing further spread.
