Sabah's Finance Minister, Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, denied receiving RM300,000 through a special officer, dismissing the claims based on a whistleblower video. He stated that he did not recall the conversation as the recording was edited. Masidi mentioned that the whistleblower offered to donate to the party, to which he responded that there was no need for such action. He welcomed any investigation into the allegations by the relevant authorities and offered full cooperation.
The whistleblower video implicated several other Sabah State Assemblypersons, but one of them, Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob, referred the matter to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC)
