Employees of a bus company have been left "greatly impacted" by the death of a bus driver who was killed in a crash in the NSW Riverina region days out from Christmas.

The Greyhound Australia service GX322 was travelling from Melbourne to Sydney at 3.35am today when the bus was involved in a collision with a heavy truck on the Hume Highway at Kyeamba, about 50km south of Wagga Wagga. Greyhound Australia spokesman Michael Leard offered his "deepest sympathies" to the driver's family and friends and confirmed employees would be offered support.The bus and a heavy truck collided at 3.35am on the Hume Highway at Kyeamba, about 50km south of Wagga Wagga.

"Assistance is also being provided to the entire Greyhound Australia team, who have been greatly impacted by this devastating event," Leard said. "We are working closely with authorities to assist them with their investigation in understanding the course of events that have led to this accident."One man is being treated for a suspected broken leg.The truck driver was not injured and has been taken to Wagga Base Hospital for mandatory testing.Anyone in the area at the time who has dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
