Certain countries have clothing rules in place which Brits should be aware of before heading off on their festive holidays

Christmas market enthusiasts are being advised to familiarise themselves with European clothing regulations before embarking on their festive trips. Certain countries have specific rules regarding what can and cannot be worn, which Brits should be aware of.

Amnesty International's Europe Director, Gauri van Gulik, has stated that this "blanket ban is neither necessary nor proportionate", urging Brits to be mindful of such rules before setting off on their journey. The Foreign Office's safety and security laws section provides more detailed information about these "laws and cultural differences", warning that non-compliance could lead to a fine.
