Matlaba, who signed in pre-season was given the armband on debut against provincial rivalsLeopards have not announced a new permanent skipper following the departures of Marks Munyai and Jean Munganga last season.

Matlaba clarifies that he was not given the armband permanently, but would take up that responsibility if offered. The 31-year-old was disappointed that his first match with the club ended in a loss. Leopards lost 1-0 to City in Thohoyandou on Sunday.man also pleads for patience on coach Lionel Soccoia who is also new in the club saying the team will jell soon.
