'We will have Brexit on October the 31st', michaelgove insists, while saying he doesn't want a general election |

The British government minister tasked with preparing for a no-deal Brexit is in Northern Ireland for a series of meetings with business leaders.

Michael Gove began his visit to the North with a short visit to a border town before going to Warrenpoint Port in Co Down. A number of businesses in the town have been stockpiling raw materials because of uncertainty around Brexit. The port is situated at the mouth of Carlingford Lough just a narrow stretch of water across from Co Louth.Mr Gove has been engaged in a war of words with the European Union this week, accusing it of intransigence and not being interested in trying to negotiate a new Withdrawal Agreement. He also said Europe will not enter any discussions with the UK about trade arrangements until the border and other contentious issues are resolved.
