NAFCOC says illegal trade destroying businesses in retail sector via SABCNewsOnline

NAFCOC says counterfeit and illegal goods has nearly destroyed businesses in the retail sector who abide by the rules.

The National African Federated Chamber of Commerce and Industry has applauded law enforcement agencies for the operations of seizingSAPS intensified the tasks after hawkers and reportedly illegal foreigners forced police out of the Johannesburg CBD two weeks ago. In a video that went viral, police were seen to be reversing as the advancing crowd pelted stones at them.

The organisation says the illegal trade has nearly destroyed businesses in the retail sector who abide by the rules.“NAFCOC acknowledges and is encouraged by the initiative to rid the streets and business premises of Johannesburg of the scourge of counterfeit and illegal goods which are reportedly peddled by people allegedly in the country illegally. We are really encouraged by the attitude and reaction of the police. If they had reacted with live ammunition, it would have been another Marikana.

It says non-payment of taxes cripples the country’s revenue collection. NAFCOC has also strongly condemned the attack on the police by reportedly illegal foreigners.

It's kinda useless cz this will go on until they come up with a solution, not to fight fire with fire

Such hypocrites, are you seeing that now, shameful of yourself, yet you pretend to be representing business sector mxm

This has been a fact since time immemorial. Why is it the topic verbal fart of the day?

Rather than simply raiding, there needs to be a way of bringing these informal markets into the mainstream, so that gvt can collect tax revenue. This is employment for these people.

Nafcoc should not be a mouthpiece to retailers, it must bring solution on how small business must grow within the competitive environment.

Which Nafcoc?

So where does all this stuff come from It comes from China...and who lets it in The ANC bribed cadres...Blame the ANC. This stuff is a drop in the ocean. The ANC are letting in thousands of containers of this shite
