Diwali is the Hindu Festival of Light, which marks the triumph of good over evil and will be observed worldwide next weekend.

The Durban CBD has come alive with colour and sound as the annual Durban Diwali Festival’s float procession gets under way.Diwali is the Hindu Festival of Light, which marks the triumph of good over evil and will be observed worldwide next weekend. The DDF is seen as a precursor to the celebrations.

Meanwhile, Metro police spokesperson Parboo Sewpersadh has urged motorists to be cautious along the procession route…“There will be a Diwali float procession taking place. They will be starting from Prince Edward Street between Grey and Albert Streets, then proceed down Grey Street into West street, all the way down Marine Parade, to the old Durban driving site. Motorists are urged to stay away from those routes mentioned.
