Govt to seek ways of reducing electricity cost: Gordhan via SABCNewsOnline

He was speaking during a question and answer session in the National Assembly by ministers in the Economic Cluster.

Despite the fact that electricity tariffs are set by the National Energy Regulator of South Africa , Democratic Alliance MP Erik Marais questioned Gordhan how his department would attempt to lower the cost of electricity. “Firstly, operational efficiency, efficient procurement, removes rent seeking and corruption around procurement, which can significantly reduce costs. Fourthly, it is [the] issue of coal procurement. If coal, renewable energy is procured on right basis, additional to competition and restructuring won’t happen tomorrow, [it] will take time,” explains Gordhan.

I HAVE A VERY GOOD SOLUTION FOR MR GORDHAN TO HELP BRING DOWN HIGH ELECTRICITY PRICES. One of the solutions because there are more than one cause. CUT OFF THE THIEVES!! ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️

STOP making noise do action

We must all buy directly from eskom

Whilst allowing the IPP's to reap the poor taxpayers monies through Eskom

Remove the ANC as government, then its done, easy.

Prime Minister Gordan is causing too much havoc. He is implementing his own resolutions, NOT MYANC 's.

Easy. Just make it law that the costs must come down in 3 months, like the CompComSA did with data.

For who?

Pravin must continue to dream

He sent out a fair warning to the Unions yesterday ..Job losses are inevitable .Watch this space
