From WSJopinion: Warren rails against the monopoly of big banks and tech companies, but Medicare for All would be far more dominant, writes John O. McGinnis

Potomac Watch: Elizabeth Warren is learning that having a plan for “everything” sounds great—unless your signature plan is a political loser. Image: Saul Loeb/AFP via Getty ImagesSen. Elizabeth Warren has a contradiction at the center of her political program.

On the one hand, she campaigns as a relentless opponent of monopoly and a proponent of vigorous antitrust enforcement. She wants to break up big tech, restrain big banks and try to reduce market concentration throughout the economy. On the other hand, she wants to erect an unshakable monopoly in one of the largest sectors of the economy: health care. Ms. Warren plans to ultimately make private medical insurance illegal and favors a government monopoly to replace their competition.

opinion Good luck with this one

opinion Which is more important: cost or quality of service?

opinion In my opinion I am not sure which is worse. Trump or Warren. If either is to become the next prez, then their extreme policies or views will bring US to 3rd place in the world. Quote me on it.

opinion She’s a goof ball

opinion She hates big banks maybe she should call on Obumber.. excuse me a Democrat who bailed out the big banks in 2008 with $700 Billions Tax payers cash / Treasury. No prove if they ever paid back.

opinion Lenin said that.

opinion Her solution. Replace those monopolies and duopolies with government ones !

opinion but not for profit

opinion So is the military, but nobody is complaining about the trillions of dollars that the military is siphoning from taxpayers to fight someone else’s wars (lobbies like the oil business or wall street) somewhere else with not much to show for it for more than 90% of Americans.

opinion No way should the gov be put in charge of health care. Still waiting my savings from the ACA

opinion Comparing bank monopolies to saving American lives. It’s what we expect from WSJ opinion pages.

opinion Nice try!

opinion But if it’s controlled by the government, at least decisions are ultimately made by electable officials xo the public has a measly of control.

opinion This guy thinks he’s soooo clever “ha ha ha, Warren says she hates monopolies but single payer is a government monopoly, I’ve got you know, witch (as long as nobody gives more than ten seconds of thought to what I’m saying)”

opinion Yup, brilliant Liz. She doesn’t want privately held companies to monopolize markets but she wants us to believe government-run monopolies are a better idea. That’s a hot one.

opinion Banks and tech companies exist to make money. Healthcare exists to heal people. How have we become so foolish as to ignore basic facts when money is involved?

opinion Because healthcare is not a business but a public good. Please try to keep up.

opinion Every other western nation has managed to make Gov run health services both cheaper and better. 100% certain we can too.

opinion ewarren No thanks, buh-bye.

opinion Corporate monopolies ≠ public services

opinion Kaiser has a great cash patient program that's even cheaper than going to a med-clinic.

opinion It’s so we don’t die
