All award shows reflect the rather narrow tastes the those who vote. They tend to be the dull, kinda boring movies that make people feel super smart for watching, while not being particularly well made or entertaining. They do not reflect the best work of the year.
You praised Lupita, Jennifer Lopez & Awkwafina for their performances in their projects. But when it comes to actually nominating them, you'd rather see someone else get nominated twice in the same category.🤨

This is so endemic in Hollywood and in business. So many love touting diversity as a cute talking point, but when the rubber meets the road they do nothing. Like so many others, BAFTA is lying trash for this.

There are lots of younger, open minded industry people who have been trying to join BAFTA for years, but can’t get in due to the membership cap. So, this is what happens. 🙄
