A designer describes the devastating moment he learned Barneys was closing all its stores, months after earning a spot on its shelves — and it reveals how brands are left picking up the pieces after bankruptcies

"Realistically we should be launching at Barneys," Zaidi told Business Insider. "If the bankruptcy didn't happen, we would have been launching within a few weeks."
