A finance YouTuber explains why he makes 4 times as much money per view as the average creator

YouTube videos earn money through ads placed by Google and the rate YouTube pays creators is called the CPM rate, or cost per 1,000 views. Videos focused on business or finance generally earn more money through ads, per view, than other videos because this type of content attracts a demographic that's valuable to advertisers.

His average CPM rate ranges from $20 to $27 per 1,000 views, he said. That's four times what the average creator earns, which is about $5 per every 1,000 views, several top creators told Business Insider.
