TORONTO -- Scenes of panic-buying around the world since the outbreak of COVID-19 has prompted some consumers to stockpile toilet paper, leaving some store shelfs across Canada bare.

But the country’s largest manufacturer of toilet paper, Kruger Products, has reassured Canadians there is no danger of toilet paper running out.

Bianco said some stores are out of stock for the short term and that his company was trying to catch up with demand with extra production runs. “So people started snapping pictures…that I think sets of a little bit of panic. You have social media also inflating this, so I think it’s a whole part of this cycle of fear and concern and misinformation that is out there.”

“There isn’t a structural shortage of toilet paper in the country, we’re not going to run out,” Bianco added.

I hope the hoarders will at least donate to their local food bank

Oh shut up!

Whoever wrote that sign needs some help.

Canada is probably the largest TP producer in the world. We have the mercury polluted lakes to prove it. We need to concentrate on the other end closer to where we feed our faces.

I understand people being concerned, but not about TP.

burnaby home to tp makers and people buy it in bulk there what a joke theres a factory there making it you can see the rolls from the sky train daily

We must protect our bog roll from the Russians!

So apparently tissues don't exist.

Hate to see what would happen with a GI viral infection giving diarrhea!

Now if people would stop cleaning out all the shelves of paper products 🤦🏻‍♂️ Shit is getting real ... you get it? 😅 The panicshopping is adverse to SocialDistancing Imagine that? You fear shortage of TP more than getting coronavirus Panic gets you pandemic

I guess these people must figure when they sneeze, they must shit themselves.

I think food is better to start buying. If you don’t have food you won’t sh....hence no need for tp

My tp battles with my nieghbour is running out we need more. 😂

The most prosperous industry now.

This is soooo embarrassing...

Here come the Americans now 😂😉

ba! hahahahahaha!. Ha!

Cascades is one of my clients. Trust me, the sheets are rolling just fine

Paranoid masses, stirred to a frenzy by the media. Evil politicians do the same thing, about 30% of the population gets into a frenzy, the rest have common sense or don’t care.

I am confused about this toilet paper thing. Actually there is none available in the stores to be bought.

Why are you MISSING the BIG question? Why aren’t retailers placing limit so sales

Testing seems to be a issue. Korea has been aggressively testing to get ahead of the curve.

That's good because half the country is FULL OF SHIT...

Not if ErinOTooleMP and PeterMacKay continue their verbal diarrhea.

It’s been inspirational 🤷‍♂️

LOL, yeah, but getting it to the retailers is going to be the upcoming problem. Transportation and logistics interruptions...

Lol.....what is with the toilet paper issue..boggles the mind...you would think food would be more important.....🇨🇦❤️

Oh thank goodness. I was almost wiped out.

pei

I went to buy some TP...just because I need it but I could not get any for my family..thanks to those stupid idiots out there hoarding it.. To those idiot's.. you can kiss my behind if you need my help

Are you sure? Some a*s holes out there have enough TP for 3 years. I'm glad to see kijiji has shut down the resale of TP, hand sanitizer, and other disinfectants. The hoarders should spend more time educating themselves and less panic shopping.

If there is alot of supply. Why is there none anywhere. Toilet paper that is. ?

Mmmm

If you need 144 rolls of toilet paper now for 2 week self quarantine you should have gone to a doctor a long time ago.

Phew!!! Just had Chile...

The population of Canada is approx 35M if they average is 2 dumps per day = 70M dumps. Women use approx 1/3 more toilet paper then men. Total =1B wipes per day. The toilet paper suppliers have kept up with the demand for decades. The math hasn’t changed. Why the hoarding.

If you are really looking check convenience stores. 7-11 still had some

It's PNEUMONIA that COVID-19 causes, NOT diarrhea.

That's good cos I haven't bought a single pack and I will need to get a pack soon.

I wouldn't trust the Canadian Media. Especially CTV for calling Canadians racist after being concerned over this virus. Now its spreading and our lovely leader still doesn't shut down flights.. Meanwhile USA,Europe all these other places going on lockdown. Canada still open.

I saw some people running so I ran too. Don't know why but everyone else was doing it. Guess they want a clean butt when they kiss it goodbye. Be a sheeple, don't ask just follow the herd.

So I’m in line for some sanitizer that says limit 4 per person, a lady in front of me has 12 bottles! When she gets to the counter the cashier says ma’am 4 per customer. You know what the lady says? What difference does it make I’m gonna go back around and get more anyways! wow

I went and “panic bought” 2 weeks ago, avoided this whole mess. Who’s the idiot again?

Yah right there is absolutely none in my town of Prince George . Assholes here are buying them an reselling them for a incredible profit. Scum of the earth .

Supply is safe but at what $$$$$$

I don’t understand this situation, within the symptoms of Covid-19 is not there and it is not mentioned that of diarrhea, why they carry it so much? everybody are in a state of frenzy when they must remain calm and not be selfish there is for everyone to carry in moderation
