Drugmaker Eli Lilly & Co. said Wednesday it is freeing up some of its scientists and research laboratories to conduct coronavirus testing in its home state of Indiana.
Lilly faces a challenge affecting other test labs around the country: supply constraints for chemical reagents needed to run the tests. Dr. Skovronsky said the company has been able to make some of its own reagents, but supply constraints could limit Lilly's ability to expand testing. The poll, of 1,050 Americans, found 63% did additional shopping to get ready for the outbreak, buying things such as food, medical supplies and alcohol.
