Dairy industry warns of impact of Covid-19 crisis on sector

Covid-19 could have a "catastrophic" impact on the dairy sector, according to a leading industry group.

Conor Mulvihill has said that peak supply this year could be as high as 250 million litres per week, which is unprecedented and reflects the huge growth in the diary sector. If that were to happen, farmers could be forced to dispose of milk on farm, which has huge implications, both environmentally and financially.

Doing my bit to help them, never drunk as much tea as i have over last few days😎

Start making PPEs for everyone e.g. food producers. Masks etc Also some dairy farmers should start growing organic oats. There is plenty of room for oatmilk. I make my own but find myself reverting back to 🇬🇧 one from shop as mine is slightly boring 😏 COVID19ireland

So surprise surprise we the public are footing the bill maybe it's time everyone shared the bill including the dairy industry these are unprecedented times act of God if you like so all are pockets will be hit so only fair to share the responsibility but the the knock on is same.
