Clariant AG said Thursday that earnings fell in the first quarter and it expects the coronavirus to affect sales and profitability in the full year. The Swiss chemical company said sales for the period came in at 1.02 billion Swiss francs ($1.11 billion) from CHF1.16 billion a year earlier. Analysts had forecasted sales at CHF1.10 billion, according to a consensus compiled by FactSet.
