SHENZHEN, China - Huawei Technologies in its first official response to the Trump administration’s move to curb its access to global chip supplies called it “arbitrary” and said its business would be impacted.

Friday’s move by the U.S. Commerce Department expands U.S. authority to require licences for sales to Huawei of semiconductors made abroad with U.S. technology, vastly extending its reach to halt sales to the world’s No. 2 smartphone maker. Huawei said the new U.S. decision was “arbitrary and pernicious, and threatens to undermine the entire industry worldwide”.

I think president Trump needs to fix this and accept Huawei because it's founder would give his life for Huawei. realDonaldTrump .... StateDept

Good!! Well done USA

Me so sorry - NOT

They're using the word arbitrarily because Canada said that China was 'arbitrarily' jailing Canadian and U.S. business travelers and residents. Sometimes executing them in front of their families. China stands to become rich from the intelligence gathering royalties in the patent

Ил-2 1941, красавец!

🤣🤣🤣🤣

China uses Huawei to spy on the world... China & Huawei must be stopped... Ban Huawei & Boycott anything & everything Chinese... all free & Democratic countries need bring manufacturing back home. BanHuawei BoycottChina

Trump's attempts to bully the Chinese into submission aren't working (as anyone with any knowledge of China could've told him long ago). He needs to find another strategy, if he's capable of doing so.

They're using the word arbitrarily because Canada said that China was 'arbitrarily' jailing Canadian and U.S. business travelers and residents. Sometimes executing them in front of their families. China's got a lot of nerve. 'Ha ha, ahbitwawiwy talking about ow micwochips!'

That image is wrong. Huawei's plane has been shot in the engine and is flaming right now with this TSMC ban.

It's all China's fault...

what kind of plane is that and from what year?

The US plays dirty against a company.

Beautiful. Lets hope communist run Huawei goes bankcrupt 😁🤗

“Arbitrary”?! Because China’s decision on Australian exports wasn’t also “arbitrary”, either, was it?! CCPVIRUS

The one thing this administration has down is the BLAME PLACEMENT on someone else, anyone else, preferably a Democrat, and terminal stupidity to spread lavishly among themselves. Dr. Birx, honey, the CDC is under this administration's control, see? It's back to square one AGAIN.

How long until a country 4x bigger than the US figures out a workaround?

realDonaldTrump should squeeze more until Huawei is just an empty shell.

华为: 没有满身的伤痕,哪有皮糙肉厚的结实!

Welcome

Hi Reuters, think about your Alstom company

I like the WWII Soviet plane on the background, looks like IL-2

THAT'S THE WAY TO TRUMP TO REMOVE COMPETITORS WHO HAVE 2 YEARS ADVANTAGE IN DEVELOPING 5G TECHNOLOGY AND SELLS CHEAPEST QUALIDS AND MSS PRODUCTS. CHINA TAKEN OFF THE MARKET BY COMPETING AND NOW THE FLAG OF FREE TRADE. TRUMP WANTS TO APPLY A GLOBAL DICTATORSHIP.

For the though to keep going then there would be no fears as to chip curb!

Every country should shun c h i n a

And China knows what it's talking about when it talks about 'arbitrary.'

Huswei is an intelligence company.

CCP know the key ways to turn the CCP Youths Arround. Young People this days are tired of that Super hero stuffs. They just want confortable life as early as possible and they most of them sees it through what the CPP are giving CPPY who most SUPERFICIAL & ARROGANT.

Huawei is so great!

SO NOW ITS MEANS; IT'S A DO OR DIE AFFAIRS? Since the world is trying it best to put the FAKE COVID-19 aside, what NEXT for CHINA & U.S?

Typical propaganda image by Reuters . You are such shame

China: Short-term pain, long-term gain. US: Short-term pain, long-term pain.

Guess what? Huawei used a screen capture from videogame IL-2 Sturmovik to brag about their resilience. This is quite metaphorical IMHO.

Row, row, row your boat Gently down the cliff Merrily merrily, merrily, merrily Nothing but a shit

Qualcomm is an American company, but it will use hardware to steal privacy, which is beyond the control of the phone maker. Huawei minimizes the use of qualcomm chips to protect user privacy and security.

Doesn’t matter to markets... stocks will continue higher. For nothing. But that’s the game. I chose to play well. Don’t trade w a bias. Only the charts matter to me. Slight fundamentals and macro too. But these days truth matters less.

when the going gets Rough, The rough gets going. this was Billy Ocean's song which was released in 1982'

The strongest country vs a Hi-tech company. Really flattered.

That's a Russian Il-2 (Cyrillic: Илью́шин Ил-2) fighter bomber. haha. They should have used a Flying Tigers P-40.
