Business Insider analyzed 27 memos and open letters from top business leaders across several industries responding to the death of George Floyd.

Communications and PR veteran LaToya Evans said it's OK if your company doesn't have all the answers yet. But "this is the time to set a new path."George Floyd's death was a wake-up call for many people in corporate America. Business Insider analyzed 27 such memos looking for common themes and patterns. The companies spanned a range of industries, including technology, finance and retail. Some of these memos were posted publicly on company websites and social media platforms; some were reported in other media outlets; some were emailed by spokespeople to Business Insider. A full list of the companies whose memos we included can be found at the bottom of this article.

"I am ashamed to say I do not have a single black employee who is at Director level or above," Wojcicki wrote. "Our product is euro-centric but must expand to be inclusive and equitable." Wojcicki told her customers that "despite our efforts, I have to honestly say that we are also part of the problem."
