The singer then revealed how she felt “for the first time in my life” that “racism is the topic of conversation”. After taking a deep breath, she explained: “When we were filming Wings, we worked with Frank Gatson. He said to me: ‘You’re the black girl, you have to work ten times harder.’
She added: “You learn that when you walk into a room you are deemed unapproachable or offish before anyone has even approached you.
