President Donald Trump signed a proclamation Monday halting a wide swath of immigration visas.

It will temporarily suspend H-1B, H-2B, H-4, J-1, and L-1 visas, affecting everything from the tech industry to students and au pairs. In a call with reporters, administration officials claimed the move will prevent immigrants from taking 525,000 jobs as unemployment remains above 13% amid the coronavirus pandemic.President Donald Trump extended a freeze to immigration visas through the end of 2020 through a proclamation he signed on Monday.A wide swath of professions will be affected, from the tech industry to universities and au pairs.
