Corrente’s time in the ad world helped her understand consumer behavior and gave her the basis for Reel, a personal-finance app.

Below Corrente shares more about her experience as an entrepreneur, how her Latinidad influenced her career trajectory, and advice she gives to other entrepreneurs. Reel is the product of a lot of curiosity and resilience from me and my co-founder Alejandro Quilici. It all started with a conversation over wine that led us to send an online survey , because we couldn't believe that millennials were so incredibly credit adverse compared to other generations.

A lot of the best companies have emerged during financial recessions, obviously, it depends on the business model, but if you have a good idea don’t get discouraged. My advice would be to not focus on what you lack but on what you have to offer, and as a result never take criticism around your idea personally.
