Domestic travel and looser duty-free rules are helping to boost Chinese tourism stocks, despite the pandemic

While Covid-19 means the global travel industry is in dire straits, holiday-making inside China is recovering because the country moved fast to suppress

the novel coronavirus. That has allowed China’s economy to return to growth in the second quarter—and made Chinese sales a bright spot for many U.S. companies.

And for the first time in decades, tourism destinations throughout the rest of the world will be spared the usual hordes of obnoxious, rude-as-hell Chinese tourists (nothing to do with their ethnicity, it’s the same phenomenon American tourists were loathed for until recently)
