'This is the sad world we live in'

Ben & Jerry's ice cream is delicious, but its social-media presence leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. This surprisingly politically radical brand of ice cream spent much of yesterday attempting to argue on Twitter with Priti Patel, the Home Secretary, about migrants crossing the Channel. In an unusual thread, the ice cream made a passionate, humanitarian case – first against “stronger borders”, and then against the concept of borders at all.

Who's stealing money from the UK again?

Pleasure boats are popular tho!

TomEBright They want more immigrants to exploit again.

Hypocrites. You only complain about the opinion of companies when it suits you. Shut up.

Fuck the Torygraph.

Free market? Free speech? Ethics? You aren't forced to buy it...a literal case of 'cancelling'..if you feel the need to buy semi-racist reality-denying ice cream other brands are available.

What business is it of that aussie racist guy with the 'sticky carpets' to spout his rubbish all over MSM . Or that silly Plumber with the dodgy hair style.

Companies and their bosses are entitled to opinions. I didn't see you complaining when the Wetherspoons boss piped up about Brexit.

Authors picture looks as suspected 🙄

Which is worse? Virtue signalling or victim blaming?

It is a sad world where ultra right wing newspapers have nothing better to do than spew forth all this hatred towards a small number of desperate migrants while simultaneously proclaiming that ‘All lives matter’.

Would you be writing for this newspaper if equality exist? Why would anyone be against saving vulnerable people? What sort of being are you?

Interesting choice of words but in a free society it’s everyone’s ‘business’ or right to speak up against xenophobia, especially when the democratic process is anaesthetised by oligarchs. Is this rag proposing shutting down a fundamental human right?

Unilever don't exactly have a great record re their workers and the environment, so, yes, virtue-signalling it is.

They need to get their next batch of slave labour in somehow. 🤷🏼‍♂️

This is the sad world we live in where xenophobic vultures flock to photo desperate vulnerable people and write hateful articles. Where are the background stories from these people for a balanced news report? This is being used as a distraction for a corrupt failing government.

It's not the cleverest of moves for a major company to make such political statements. All it's going to achieve is to alienate a large number of customers or potential customers. They should stick to the raspberry ripple.

But it’s okay for Tim Fucking Martin to bang on about Brexit ?

Tom & Jerry & Bill & Ben are also very concerned that some of the illegals have only had 4 star & not 5 star hotels, scandalous

.

UK stole their oil, lives, family and now they come to revenge

I know plenty about Ben & Jerry's but who the F is Tom Hardwood and what the hell is virtue signalling and why is it wrong?

Thank you for signaling your lack of virtue by perpetuating the hackneyed concept of “virtue signaling.”

Think most people would actually trust benandjerrys over pritipatel who is beyond stupid and a complete laughing stock.

What a sad world we live in, where Telegraph readers would be happy to see humans drown.

Ben & Jerry who exactly...... are they related or just friends ?

The bloke responsible for the UK account probably has been moved on

They make ice cream! Of course they are global political savants...makes complete sense 🤪

It's called freedom of speech.

Free speech and a free market.

A trendy opinion? Or a conscience, knowing right from wrong?
