While I understand the entire mess we're in for in this year's election. Never in my prior experience has voting taken longer then 15 minutes. So I while I'll gladly take a paid day off work, I don't see why would an entire day off work is needed to vote.
Women should not be allowed to vote during Their menstrual cycle, during pregnancy, or after menopause.

Federal holiday doesn't automatically give corporate America the day off. Private companies choose whether to give the day off anyway. No federal action is needed for that. All a federal holiday gives is federal employees the day off.

Very common practice in Canada that your employer will give you time to go and vote during voting station open hours.

Should have been a national holiday a long time. Fun project. If your bosses resist you taking time to go vote on Election Day, record the conversation. Then leave anyways and vote. You have a legal right to keep your job, and now you have evidence to make way more money.

Seems like voting early would be illegal, reason being that you may be dead the beginning of November, but you were alive the end of October. Therefore, you would not be available to vote Nov 3rd.
To think “WE” the people pay these politicians to do their job. Making Election Day a national holiday shouldn’t even be questioned. Thanks Corporate America for stepping in.
Most of these companies employ high income earners stateside. Where is Target, McDonalds, Home Depot, etc?
