Apple's new $599 iPad Air will come with a sleek, new form of Touch ID that we may see in future iPhones

The $599 iPad Air won't come with a home button, which historically has been how users unlock their devices with their fingerprints. Instead, that function will be housed in the power button at the top of the device, a move that allowed for a bigger screen — the display clocks in at 10.9 inches. Oh joy a different touch ID when we all use facial recognition anyway... Innovation has died, its all about design.

'New form of Touch ID'. Meaning there's a fingerprint scanner in the power bottom to keep the costs down. Many phones over the years have had the same type of fingerprint scanner.

For $599, I could buy more things that are of practical use to me -iPad Air is not among the things that are practical use to me
