Brigitte Fava has kept her family restaurant running during Melbourne's second wave for the mental wellbeing of her husband and two sons, and says the revised roadmap out of lockdown won't turn things around overnight.

Brigitte Fava says she's kept her Italian family restaurant running through Melbourne's second wave of coronavirus infections mostly for the mental health of her family. But business groups are calling for the indoor patron limit to be increased to make restaurant reopenings viable

Ms Fava said the second wave had been "absolutely disastrous" for her Williamstown restaurant, with the 5-kilometre travel limit further restricting the customers able to drop by for takeaway. She said she could now see "a little bit of light", and a return to at least some indoor dining was "a small bonus" after a grim few months.

Based on the current street frontage available to her, Ms Fava estimates she could accommodate about six tables of four people. "It's the only way hospitality will be able to operate viably and we've got until next week to convince the Government," he said. Over the past few weeks, she has been told to expect a reopening on November 23, October 26, October 19 and now November 1, or possibly earlier."We can't book our clients in, we've just been told so many different dates.Brooke Allan says she looks forward to pampering her clients once her business can finally reopen.

Despite the challenges, Ms Allan said she loved her business and had stayed in close contact with her clients during the lockdown, which made her all the more keen to offer them some care once her business could reopen. Ms Mariani said that would allow regional businesses to make the most of the Melbourne Cup long weekend and understand what to do with some bookings around that time made by people in Melbourne.

Dan says we’ve got stick to the plan, the perpetually changing plan, what a joke. I feel for all the SME’s out there.

It's almost like a pandemic with a previously unknown virus is hard to predict! Imagine!!!

Dr. Li-Meng Yan shows the evidence in her two short reports that the coronavirus is manufactured and spread intentionally by the Chinese Communist Party. Video:

what the government needs to freeze all the running cost and operational cost of any business. freeze the banking payment, the council rates, the licence, the tax, the electricity trap and give them a zero per cent interest for 5 years for them to regain confidence.

Don't be Gullible folks. Andrews is a CCP mole, so clear now. He's deliberately locked down retail to sabotage the Aus economy, part of China's plans. Notice fairly generous social interaction now, but nothing for retail and hospitality. That is deliberately targeted sabotage

This is rediculous, infact I question Andrews sanity and fitness to be making these decisions. The virus has been suppressed, now the logical strategy is to identify and isolate individuals and continue hygiene standards that stop spread. This is clearly an elimination strategy.

That's just nonsense. Of been clear as crystal to anyone that doesn't try to be confused. This is malicious ignorance. If they can't follow what's happening I fear for their business nous.

Ohh the ever present supportive And on your behalf may I say CONGRATULATIONS Victoria & DanielAndrewsMP You're Welcome

BS - we are watching the press conferences!!

He does not care. He wants numbers down at any cost. He has no idea how to manager this disaster. He has blue prints from other states and ignores them. It’s Dan’s way and that’s it.

This is global. A pandemic is uncertain. And yes, it’s horrible to lose a business but it’s more horrible to lose your life.

ABC can you also advise these business owners if numbers start to increase again the government will re-impose the rules that applied up to 14 days before. This is why they are slowly undoing the rules, because they are smart enough to understand the virus respects no one.

Well it is a pandemic ma'am and it doesn't care about human inconveniences.

Who is telling you to push these viewpoints? How is 'global pandemic a bit tricky to schedule' the headline that we need? What the hell is happening in your newsroom? Push back.

Stop it ABC This is tiresome Perhaps come and interview me about getting on with it instead of this whining nonsense again again and again Enough

'...the last few months have been 'absolutely disastrous' for her Williamstown restaurant...' You know who else it's been 'absolutely disastrous' for? People who died alone on a ventilator.

Very confusing.

The Covid 19 virus does not keep dates Infections & virus work on string theories DNA testing will give time line's dates of past infection etc Virus has no Brain arms or pen to record or draw pathway plan

Shut up ABCNEWS

You didn't provide all the dates she has been told and by whom As such, it seems to be an unsubstantiated claim

You should know by now that a virus that caused a global pandemic is extremely volatile, & there can be no guarantees on what the cases will be tomorrow, next week, next month. Things have to be reviewed. These reviews are happening constantly across the world.

Health before the economy Sick or dead people don’t work

Could it be another ABC negative article about Victoria!?
