Joe Biden’s clean energy plans put the spotlight on oil companies and stocks during Thursday’s final debate with Donald Trump, even though crude oil futures fell very marginally after the statements

- Republican President Donald Trump and Democratic challenger Joe Biden clashed over the country’s response to climate change in their final presidential debate on Thursday, which included a stark disagreement over the future of the oil industry.

“Global warming is an existential threat to humanity,” Biden said. “We have a moral obligation to deal with it and we’re told by all the leading scientists in the world we don’t have much time.” “He is going to destroy the oil industry,” Trump said. “Will you remember that Texas? Will you remember that Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, Ohio?”

Kendra Horn, a Democratic U.S. representative from Oklahoma seeking re-election, distanced herself from Biden, saying on Twitter that oil and gas policy is “one of the places Biden and I disagree.”“We’re not getting rid of fossil fuels,” Biden said. “We’re getting of the subsidies for fossil fuels. But we’re not getting rid of fossil fuels for a long time ... they’re not going to lose their jobs. Besides, a lot more jobs are going to be created in other alternatives.

But heat waves and wildfires in the Western United States and uncommonly powerful storms battering other parts of the country have put climate issues in the spotlight.

The forests of California & Colorado are burning down right now! The oil and gas industry is an unprofitable industry, if you remove the huge government subsidies & force expenditures to mitigate the huge externalities they avoid by pouring waste into the rivers, oceans & air!

Kennedy wanted to transition from oil in 1962

Energy companies began their transition away from oil/gas years ago. They realize it’s a finite resource while solar/wind are inexhaustible. Renewable generation costs will continue to decline steadily.

Biden committed to something that is impractical, unless he wants to have power cuts in the rest of America like they are experiencing in California. It's also toxic to his attempt at taking the presidency from Trump. He just lost Pennsylvania with his rash statement, for sure.

This is not new to the Oil industries. They have been proactive on future needs for energy.

There goes Oklahoma

Joe Biden will definately lose as the capital doesn't like his statement

Oil companies already see the writing on the wall

Even now, it is necessary to rejoin the Paris Climate Convention and study the energy conversion in depth.

They will be shut down!! Good by being energy independent!

Industry eventually has to evolve, Trump has no real vision for the future.

TRANSITION AWAY FROM A “FINITE” RESOURCE KINDA SEEMS LIKE A GOOD IDEA 🤷‍♂️

'Hunter Biden is a Crack Head.'
