MELAKA: Job hunters are not giving up on careers in the hospitality industry despite Melaka hotels facing poor business due the current Covid-19 pandemic.

Malaysia Budget Hotel Association Melaka chapter president Sazali Sabri said hotels are getting job applications on a daily basis.

"I guess it's the same for other hotels too although I have not collected the actual figures," he said on Wednesday ."I really want to help them but hotels here have no vacancies due to our current situation," he said. He noted that Melaka budget hotels enjoyed brisk sales when the travel restriction was lifted in June but the situation had deteriorated over the past few weeks.Sazali said it was not easy for budget hotels to wind up as it is hard to restart operations should the situation improve.
