NLEX Corporation will not be allowed to collect toll fees from motorists entering through Valenzuela City should the local government decide to suspend its business permit amid its 'RFID fiasco,' Mayor Rex Gatchalian said Saturday (Dec. 5).

NLEX Corporation will not be allowed to collect toll fees from motorists entering through Valenzuela City should the local government decide to suspend its business permit amid its “RFID fiasco,” Mayor Rex Gatchalian said Saturday .Gatchalian said the company must submit a “satisfactory” action plan and explanation letter over the “atrocious traffic situation” on its expressway, otherwise a suspension order would be served against them.

“By Monday, if they do not comply with any of the two or if they comply but unsatisfactory…there will be grounds to suspend their business permit,” he added. Gatchalian’s move came after a number of motorists and commuters took to social media to express frustration about the traffic build up on the expressway, particularly at its toll booth, due to the supposed inefficiency of its system which causes delays.
