President-elect Joe Biden's tough-on-China policy could be challenged by the landmark new EU-China investment treaty reached after seven years of negotiations.

After seven years of negotiations, the European Union and China agreed in principle on a landmark investment treaty that the 27-member bloc says will level the playing field for European investors in China.

The EU says that China has made significant commitments to allow European investors greater access to its manufacturing sector, as well as in cloud services, financial services, and private health care. The deal also provides a boon for Chinese investors in Europe. Still, the deal was cheered by Chinese markets, with the Shanghai Composite Index SHCOMP, +1.72% climbing 1.7% on Wednesday to its highest level since early 2018.

It took seven years to negotiate, how many years to implement? Good thing is that communist China state linked companies' actions in Europe will be under great scrutine moving forward.🖒

So Biden is like Trump

Good luck with that deal neither side can be trusted.
