— giving them a slim majority and installing pro-marijuana legalization leaders in the upper chamber — Curaleaf Chair Boris Jordan decided to try something big.
The company’s payday foreshadows how the entire cannabis industry is poised for growth and consolidation as Democrats take full control of the federal government. Companies are positioning themselves for the greater likelihood that federal cannabis restrictions will be loosened significantly. “There's no stopping the industry now,” said Andrew Kline, who recently joined the law firm Perkins Coie after serving as public policy director for the National Cannabis Industry Association. “The bigger players are going to be interested in acquiring smaller companies and becoming multi-state operators or expanding their footprint in different states.”A flurry of deals and capital raises have been made in recent weeks, in addition to Curaleaf cashing in.
It should be legal. Stop arguing it and get on with more important things.
Make pot as legal as lettuce-to grow, consume and sell. If I had my way-pot would be legal and kale would be illegal lol.
Just because someone says its a cure... doesn't always mean it works...
Keep them dumb, and stoned.
But why? Dems have done little to nothing to this point.
Allowing for the legal sale of cannabis and cannabis products would be a great economy restarter. It can give local economies a new revenue stream for taxation and help struggling local businesses diversify offerings. It just makes sense.
Only thing I agree with Dems on. If the GOP were smart they would realize that it would create tons of tax dollars. And its no more sinfull than alcohol or tobacco. Im still waiting for a reason to keep weed the same classification as Heroin.
What's the problem here?
While the reasons to legalize marijuana are more than valid, there remain some serious concerns that must be addressed, especially for those in the trucking industry and small business owners.
They will only claim they have full control until they do everything in the book to claim the GOP is blocking anything they try to 'supposedly' get accomplished. Are y'all new to how politics works in this Country?
