My business is thriving because we recognized that paying our hard working entry level employees wages that increasingly left them unable to afford basic living expenses was morally and economically absurd. Take those stories, multiply them by millions, and you'll see a clear picture of what failing to pay folks a livable wage has done, and will continue to do, to the social and economic fabric of our country if left unaddressed. The United States appears to be headed towards afrom the economic crisis brought on by the pandemic, where wealthy executives like myself enjoy massive gains in wealth, while low-wage workers disproportionately lose their jobs and savings.

johnp_driscoll Wasn't that like a $2.00 wage increase. Some states would almost have to increase it by 3 times. 10 now, 15 by 2030, and an e-verify

johnp_driscoll This will prompt businesses to move rapidly toward technology that can replace its human workforce.

johnp_driscoll If there's a spike in minimum wage, hours and/or employees just get cut to keep the labor costs in line. You can try raising prices, but only by so much.
