This Regina family turned their home construction company into a cannabis cultivation facility. — via TheGrowthOp

, the family began marketing their first batch of products in February. This followed a lengthy, three-year transition process which involved renovating their entire workspace, filling out hundreds of pages of paperwork and learning the ins and outs of cultivation.“It’s had its ups and downs, but I wouldn’t change it for anything … It was perfect timing” he said in an interview Monday.

Joe and Alex Kratz stand beside the company’s current sign and its older counterpart. Joe Krantz established Joe Kratz Construction Ltd in 1964 after emigrating from Germany.Alex came up with of the idea for the transition amidst the housing crash in 2018. He read a newspaper article detailing the start-up process for prospective cannabis producers and shared the article with Ralph and Joe. After some discussion, they started their application.

“My grandfather started it focusing on quality and hoping referrals will drive business. And that is kind of how we want to operate our cannabis grow as well,” Alex explained.
